Who has never spent time leafing through the albums of their grandparents and parents? The photos of their wedding, of the receptions: how many differences!
As far as the grandparents were concerned, it was post-war, the period in which they got married. For the younger ones it was the 60s but it was still another period and atmosphere.
The wedding party was different depending on whether the bride and groom were from the city or the countryside. Yes, in fact there were certainly no social media, few magazines, everything was done a bit as it had always been done, everyone had their own style.
 Large hotel rooms were chosen because everything was strictly indoors.
 First of all, we got married in the morning and therefore lunch was reserved for the reception.
 There was no aperitif, but the starter served strictly seated. The menu included many courses, both fish and meat: a lemon sorbet between the two. We didn't get up from the table until the evening: the lunch was longer than the bride's train.
 The wedding cake, vertical on several levels with the inevitable couple on top.
There were many elderly guests, who had experienced the famine of the second war: the abundant lunch was truly a sign of prosperity, a wish for happiness for the couple, generous thanks for the guests and consolation for the sad moments now gone.

Today the reception always represents 40% of the couple's budget, the most important expense.
The banquet is divided into three fundamental parts: the standing aperitif, the seated dinner (I forgot you get married in the afternoon!) and the long after-dinner (cake cutting, dessert buffet, dancing, open bar).
